Angel Caraballo

Hello, my name is Angel Caraballo. I sincerely believe my life took a very positive turn when I met Kinloch C. Walpole, better known as my dear friend and mentor. In my tenth year in prison, I sat for the first time in my life. KC showed and taught me how to breathe, meditate, and still my mind. For the first time the anger, frustrations, and emptiness disappeared. I dedicated my life to a new direction, making myself a better man. I received my water and wastewater licenses, formed a stronger bond with family and friends, and envisioned a life where I could be of service to the world in general.

Who is to say, with or without KC, how things would have turned out, different or not. All I do know is for over eight years since I walked into the free world, his friendship, his love for people, and his unwavering kindness has helped me and countless others to not only enjoy life, but to also be of service to others in some form or fashion. He holds a special place in my family’s heart. Imagine, a Zen teacher marrying a converted baptist, in front of an all-baptist family! He is just amazing. I would wish my life could have as great an impact on just one person, let alone hundreds as KC has.

How You Can Help

The classes that Angel attended were taught by volunteers taking time out of their own busy lives to reach out and help others in great need. If you would like to contribute to the cause of turning around the lives of inmates and ex-offenders such as Angel, please consider volunteering or donating.
