Long Sit: Saturday, June 6th, 10am – 3pm

We will be having our first long sit at our new location on Saturday, June 6th, from 10:00am until 3:00pm. The tentative format of our long sits will consist of opening with the Morning Bell Chant, followed by 25 minute and 10 minute periods of sitting and walking meditation, respectively. At 12:00pm we will break for an hour of lunch and discussion, and resume sitting 1:00pm until 3:00pm. Long sits will take place the first Saturday of every month.

Please feel free to join us at any time during the event, and also to leave whenever you need to. If you would like to bring a dish to share during lunch, that would be greatly appreciated.

The Morning Bell Chant is a deep, beautiful, and moving piece, and Zen Master Hae Kwang (Stanley Lombardo) put together a wonderful translation and background of the chant, which you can find below.
