In order to help maintain and assist with the upkeep of the Gainesville Retreat Center, which has become our new home, we are looking to begin bi-weekly or monthly work periods. Each work period would be approximately 3 – 4 hours long with a potluck lunch break in the middle. Work would include sweeping, weeding, light yard work, and inside chores. What we do off of the cushion is just as, if not more, important than what we do on the cushion. Please email email@example.com or call/text 803-260-7077 if you would like to participate. Thanks.
Practice Time Change
In order to help those who may have had trouble making it to the Gainesville Retreat Center by 6:30pm, due to the slightly increased travel time, we will begin and end practice 15 minutes later than usual. If you need transportation to the center, please call/text 352-346-2581, or 803-260-7077. Thanks.
Thanks to everyone who attended the half-day retreat with us last Thursday. Practicing together as we did helps lend support to each individual’s own practice, allowing us to accomplish things we may not be able to do on our own. We sincerely hope to see many of you again soon.
While our traditional practice is cancelled on Monday, July 27th, the Gainesville Retreat Center will be hosting practice during our usual time and place for any who would like to attend.
If you’re new to Zen meditation and would like a brief introduction, please arrive around 6pm. Practice will begin at 6:30 pm as usual.
Those at the GRC have experience with the Sanbo Kyodan Zen tradition, and this would be a great opportunity to experience another lineage.
